Cause of DTC

The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it. Only the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) communicates on the controller area network (CAN). Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) contains 2 processors that work together and check each other to be able to detect internal defects in the steering wheel angle sensor . A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects: Internal fault in the software. The control modules test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of: Ignition switch position II.
