Shift Solenoid B Control Circuit Range Performance

Description

Pressure Control Solenoids: A short to battery failure is detected if the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) indicates a short to battery failure or the PWM feedback signal at the output stage is 0%. An open circuit or short to ground failure is detected if the ASIC indicates a short to ground or open circuit failure or the PWM feedback signal at the output stage is 100%. A short to ground failure is detected if the ASIC indicates a short to ground failure in reaction to the output stage being switch off after an open circuit or short to ground failure detection. A bypass to ground failure is detected if the ASIC indicates a bypass to ground failure. A current too low failure is detected if the calculated pressure control solenoid current is less than a calibrated value. A current too high failure is detected if the calculated pressure control solenoid current is greater than a calibrated value. A Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) communication failure in the SPI communication between the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and the ASIC is detected based upon the validity of the check-byte, the timing and the feedback signal of the message. Shift Solenoids: A short to battery failure is detected if the voltage of the output signal during PWM duty phase is greater than a calibrated value. An open circuit failure is detected if the voltage of the output signal during PWM duty or no duty phase is in an invalid range. A short to ground failure is detected if the voltage of the output signal during PWM duty or no duty phase is less than a calibrated value. A short to ground or open circuit failure is detected if the commanded duty cycle for the solenoid is 100% and the ASIC indicates the output stage is switched off.
